Does it work without internet?

Yes. Your dashboard, balances and recent transactions stay readable offline, and new income or expenses you add are kept on your phone and sync by themselves the moment you are back online. Useful on the bus, in a shop basement, or anywhere the data drops.

Can I use it on my computer as well?

Yes, it is the same account. Log an expense on your phone at the shop and open the same books on a laptop later to plan the month. Nothing needs to be transferred.

Why can I not buy premium inside the Android app?

Accepted Answer

Google requires apps to use Play Billing for anything sold inside them, and Nepal is not a supported merchant country for it. So the app sells nothing, you buy premium on aafnohisab.com and the app simply recognises it.

Can I lock the app so nobody else sees my money?

Yes. Turn on the PIN lock in Settings, and use hide-balance mode when you want the numbers blurred while someone is looking over your shoulder.

What is udharo tracking?

Udharo is the money you lend to friends, relatives and neighbours, the money everyone forgets. You record who, how much, and when you should get it back, and the app reminds you 3, 2 and 1 days before that date, in the app and by email. No more remembering six months late.

Can I track a loan from a relative or a sahakari?

Yes, and this is the part most apps get wrong. Choose "Interest only" when you add the loan: you pay interest each period and return the whole principal at the end of the term, which is how borrowing from family, friends and co-operatives usually works. The schedule shows every interest payment and the final principal repayment separately.

Does the EMI schedule match what my bank gave me?

It should. Interest is calculated on the day count, outstanding × rate × days ÷ 365, the same way Nepali banks bill, and you can enter the EMI amount your bank told you instead of letting the app calculate one. Payments fall on the date of the month you choose.

Eight calculators that use your own numbers, not blank boxes: the 50/30/20 rule, an emergency fund planner, loan prepayment savings, a financial health score out of 100, FD maturity with quarterly compounding and TDS, monthly investing (SIP), gold in tola, and how much a bank would lend you at your income.

Can I track gold, land or my shop?

Yes. Add them under Investments and pick the type, for gold, land, a business or anything without a fixed return, the app only asks for the current value and you update it when the market moves. It will not force you to invent a percentage.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. Reports export to Excel and PDF, and the loan amortization schedule exports on its own too, which is useful when you want to check it against the bank's sheet.

Can I fix a transaction I entered wrong?

Yes, on every plan. Tap the pencil on any transaction to change it or the bin to delete it. Correcting your own records is not something we charge for.

Budgets alert you at 90% of the limit, not after you have crossed it. EMI reminders arrive 3, 2 and 1 days before the due date, and udharo reminders work the same way.

Is Aafno Hisab free?

The free plan is free forever, you can add income and expenses, edit them, make your own categories, and see your dashboard, with no card and no countdown. Premium adds budgets, loans, investments, goals, udharo, reports and AI, starting at Rs. 500 for a month.

Why not just use a foreign expense tracker?

Most of them cannot show Bikram Sambat dates, cannot write 1,45,000 the way we read it, have never heard of eSewa or Khalti, and have no idea what udharo is. You end up bending your habits to fit the app. Aafno Hisab starts from how money already moves here.

Can I use it in Nepali?

Yes. The whole app is in Nepali and English, and you switch from the header at any time. Dates can be shown in Bikram Sambat or AD, whichever you actually use.

It is built in Nepal by a small team, and the person who writes the code answers the WhatsApp messages. If something is broken or missing, you are not filing a ticket into a void.

How do I start? What do I do on day one?

Create an account, then open Accounts and set the current balance of your cash, bank, eSewa and Khalti, whatever you actually use. From then on just record what you spend as it happens. The first week is the hard part; after that it takes about two minutes a day.

Do I need to know accounting to use this?

No. You type what you spent and what you earned, in ordinary words. The double-entry bookkeeping runs underneath so your balances cannot quietly drift, but you never have to see it or think about it.

Can I add my own categories?

Yes, on every plan. When you add a transaction, tap "+ New category" beside the category box, type the name, and it is there from then on, tuition fee, ghar bhada, chhath kharcha, whatever you actually spend on.

Can I bring in my old records?

There is no file import yet. Most people start from today's balances and let history build from there, which is enough to see patterns within a month. If you have a spreadsheet you badly want in, message us and we will look at it.

My balance in the app does not match my bank. What now?

Accepted Answer

Open Accounts, tap the account, and set the balance to what the bank says. The app books the difference as an adjustment, so nothing breaks and the history stays intact. Do this whenever the two drift apart.

How does the credit system work?

1 credit = 1 day of premium. A month is 30 credits, six months is 180, a year is 365. You buy credits once and they count down a day at a time, there is no subscription running in the background.

Will money be taken from my account automatically?

No. There is no auto-renewal and no card stored anywhere. When your credits run out, they simply run out, and you decide whether to buy more.

What happens when my credits finish?

Nothing is deleted. Adding income and expenses keeps working as normal, and the premium pages turn read-only until you top up. Your loans, budgets and udharo are all still there waiting.

How do I pay?

eSewa, Khalti, or a bank QR, whatever is already on your phone. Pay the amount shown, upload the screenshot, and we check it by hand, usually within a few hours.

How long until my premium is active?

Usually a few hours. A person checks each payment screenshot against the statement, so it is not instant, but it is not overnight either. If it is urgent, message us on WhatsApp with the screenshot.

Which plan should I pick?

Six months at Rs. 1,500 works out at about Rs. 8 a day and is what most people take. Take the monthly one if you want to try premium properly first, credits stack, so nothing is wasted if you upgrade later.

Credits are prepaid and are not refundable, which is why the free plan has no time limit and every new account gets a 7-day premium trial. Try everything before you pay for it.

Not as a listed price. If cost is genuinely the thing stopping you, message us on WhatsApp and tell us your situation, we would rather you use the app than not.

Is my financial data safe?

Every row in the database is protected by row-level security, which means the database itself refuses to return your data to anyone else's login, not just the app. Everything travels over HTTPS, and passwords are never stored in a form anyone can read.

Do you sell or share my data?

No. We do not sell financial data and we do not share it with advertisers. That is also why the app has no ads, an app paid for by advertising has to earn its money from you somehow.

Does the AI read my transactions?

No. Only aggregated totals, how much went to food this month, how much to EMI, are sent for analysis. Individual transactions, names, remarks and account numbers never leave the database.

Can I delete my account and everything in it?

Yes, yourself, at any time. Profile → Danger zone → Delete account removes your login and every record permanently. If you only want a clean slate, "Reset all data" wipes the books but keeps your account and credits.

How does the referral work?

Share your invite link from your Profile. When a friend signs up through it and buys their first plan, you both get 30 credits, a free month each. Nothing is awarded just for signing up, which keeps the whole thing honest.
